Thank you, Neuronus!

SOMS would like to thank the organizers of Neuronus 2011 International Student Neuroscience Conference (April 15-17th, Cracow, Poland) and especially Adam Tomczak and Eliza Wlazlo for facilitating the active participation to the event of 3 SOMS members: Alexandra Constantinescu, Aldebarani Gonzalez and Alexandra Dolfi. The stipends covered the congress fee, accommodation and help with travel expenses. This is the first time SOMS members receive stipends to attend an international conference.

Moreover, Alexandra Constantinescu would like to express her gratitude towards International Brain Research Organization for the generous funding that covered all expenses associated with her attendance to Neuronus 2011.

SOMS members held oral presentations during the Pathology in the Central Nervous System Session, chaired by Alexandra Constantinescu:

1) Stimulus strength, anesthetic depth and bursting history are key factors for the burst-suppression electrocortical pattern – Alexandra Constantinescu, Andrei Ilie, Dragos Ciocan, Bogdan Ionut David, Ana-Maria Zagrean, Leon Zagrean, Mihai Moldovan

2) Deep anesthesia impairs brain ischemic defenses – Aldebarani Gonzalez, Alexandra Oana Constantinescu, Dragos Ciocan, Andrei Ilie, Leon Zagrean, Mihai Moldovan – awarded the audience prize for best oral presentation

3) Theta waves during ischemic suppression in rat. Artifact or not? – Alexandra Dolfi, Alexandra Oana Constantinescu, Armand Iliescu, Bogdan David, Leon Zagrean, Mihai Moldovan

During the Opportunities Discussion Panel, Alexandra Constantinescu shared her IBRO InEurope scientific experience at Oxford University:
